Police Investigating Suspicious Incident in Crozet

August 27, 2013

Albemarle County police are asking people in Crozet to be alert, after an incident that was first described as a "suspicious circumstance," ended with a juvenile being chased by a stranger into her home.

The incident reportedly happened around 6 PM Monday night in the 2600 block of Browns Gap Turnpike.

Police say the suspect drove past a house a few times, got out of a vehicle, and chased the juvenile up the driveway. The juvenile is safe.

The suspect has not been identified, and police are investigating.

Neighbors in the area are being asked to stay alert and call police if they see anything out of the ordinary.

Police are emphasizing that they don't believe there is any connection between this incident and the abduction of missing Nelson County teenager Alexis Murphy.
