Albemarle Co. Police Release Details on Bank Robbery

Albemarle County police arrest a Charlottesville man for a bank robbery at the Rio Hill Shopping Center on Monday evening.

Police say 49-year-old John Adolf Reich walked into the SunTrust bank inside the Kroger grocery store a little before 5 PM, and asked the teller to fill a bag with money. During the robbery, Reich alluded to the bank employee that he had a weapon.

He then took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the robbery.

Reich was arrested in Crozet four hours later.

He has been charged with one felony count of robbery, and is being held without bond at the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail.
