The Boys and Girls Club and Charlottesville Free Clinic are two organizations that will be getting large donations thanks to a group of local women.
The Junior League of Charlottesville raised about $20,000 at it's second annual Book Author Dinner. The keynote speaker discussed poverty asked people to donate their time to help those less fortunate.
"We're just so happy. This is just the second year of us doing this event, but I think that we're going to increase the money raised by $10,000. We're just pleased by the response," said Angie Oakey, one of the co-chairs.
Over 280 guests attended the silent auction and dinner.
