Mike Farruggio, Buddy Weber

The Republican candidates for Charlottesville City Council are speaking out against the work that is being done by current council members.
Buddy Weber and Mike Farruggio held a press conference outside City Hall on Thursday morning, explaining their goals for council if they're elected.
The candidates explained that they want to rehabilitate public housing, reduce the drop-out rate from Charlottesville schools, and protect the Downtown Mall from drug abuse and panhandling.
"We will make decisions without unnecessary studies and endless delays," said Farruggio. "We will work together with the staff and other councilors to ensure that the job is completed in a timely, cost effective and professional manner."
"We've said that city council often waste money on unnecessary studies, ineffective programs and delayed decisions. That money can be better utilized on actual investments that benefit the people," Weber said.
If elected, they explained they will promote common sense, result-oriented agenda.
