Traffic Delays Caused by Spill on Georgetown Rd

Nov. 1, 2013

A fuel spill on Friday morning caused some traffic delays in Albemarle County.

Hazmat crews were called out to the intersection of Georgetown and Hydraulic Road, and Georgetown and Barracks Road just after 11 a.m. They received a report of a substance that had spilled on the road, and were called to clean it up. It turned out to be diesel fuel.

Traffic was diverted while crews worked, putting down sawdust to absorb the fuel.
