The Fluvanna County Sheriffs office kicked off their first Explorers class Wednesday. The class is designed to give 14- to 20-year-olds who are interested in law enforcement a head start. The 16-student class meets twice a month to learn things such as career skills, decision-making and Virginia laws.
"It's a good opportunity to get some real insight and actually practice the skills that law enforcement officers do everyday," said Von Hill of the Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office.
Hill started the program and hopes it will help students connect better with the Sheriff's office.
