Charlottesville Police Investigate Two Early Morning Robberies

Charlottesville police are investigating two early morning robberies that may be connected. The first robbery happened around 2:45 AM Saturday morning in the 400 block of 15th Street. According to police, a University of Virginia student was walking home when a man grabbed her purse and ran off to a waiting car.

A second UVa student was reportedly assaulted and robbed about a half an hour later in the 200 block of 14th Street. The student was taken to UVa Medical Center for minor injuries.

Officials say both cases have similarities. Anyone with information about these cases is asked to call Crime Stoppers (434) 977-4000.
