Judge Recuses Himself in Close Race for Attorney General

Dec. 2, 2013

The Richmond Circuit Court judge who was expected to preside over the recount in the race for attorney general has recused himself.

Judge Bradley Cavedo recused himself last week. He did not state a reason.

Instead, Judge Beverly Snukals will preside over the recount.

The recount court will settle any disputed ballots in the extremely close race between Democrat Mark Herring and Republican Mark Obenshain. Herring currently has a 165-vote lead over Obenshain.

A preliminary hearing is expected this week.
