Traffic is back to normal along Ivy road after a woman drove her car up an embankment. Police say a witness spotted the smoking car just after 2:30 p.m. The driver was trapped inside when rescue crews arrived. They had to cut the roof off to get her out. Police say her injuries didn't appear to be life-threatening.

"We attempted to her keep her awake, talk to her, make sure she didn't go unconscious until rescue came and took over," said Cpl. Steven Wilkins of the Albemarle County Police Dept.

Police are still investigating how the car wound up on the hill.
