Albemarle Co. Sees Jump in School Buses Needing Maintenance

Jan. 7, 2014

Albemarle County school buses had a busy morning, even with the two-hour delay.

Thirty-four buses needed maintenance service Tuesday morning. Officials say, on a normal day they only have issues with three or four.

Only six buses were late, mostly by just a few minutes.

Officials say that whenever a bus is late, they send an e-mail and call the parents whose children ride that bus to let them know the bus is running late.

The county is requiring some buses be parked at the Transportation Department tonight, so they can be serviced more quickly if needed on Wednesday.
