A new restaurant opened its doors and fired up its grill Thursday.
Zoës Kitchen opened this morning in the Barracks Road Shopping Center in Charlottesville. The fast casual style restaurant says they focus on freshly made meals with Mediterranean influences.
The chain, first started in Alabama, tries to offer nutritious food for a variety of health needs. It offers eat-in, to go, and catering for lunch and dinner.
"Really excited and looking forward to seeing all the new faces come in. Really trying to make people happy with our food, our hospitality, and our presence in this new market for us," said Justin Holdgreiwe, the General Manager of the Charlottesville Zoës Kitchen.
Planning for the restaurant started about a year ago. It is the first of several businesses to open where the old Shell gas station and garage used to be.
