While many people will be tuning in for the Super Bowl others will be checking out the 10th annual Puppy Bowl on the Animal Planet. This year's event even features a puppy from Central Virginia.
Brody is part of the Green Dogs Unleashed rescue in Troy.
The American Eskimo Spitz joined 65 other puppies from various animal shelters across the country back in October to film the annual game.
Green Dogs Unleashed Director Erika Proctor says having this exposure is great for the special needs dog rescue.
"Having the ability be on Animal Planet and be on Puppy Bowl is great because that means that more people are going to be driven to our website and can learn and get some information and education about special needs animals," said Erika Proctor, Director, Green Dogs Unleashed.
While Proctor says she can't discuss his plays on the field, she adds that Brody is one to watch out for.
Producers say the main goal of the puppy bowl is to promote pet adoption from animal shelters rather than pet stores.
Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl X coverage begins Sunday, Feb.2nd, at 3 p.m.
