Everyday we use gallons of water around the house, but how clean is our water? Water plays a huge role in our everyday lives. We bathe in it, wash our clothes with it, clean our dishes with it. Cook with it, water our lawns with it, and most importantly drink it. So now more than ever the quality of our water is very important.

Every time you turn on the tap you expect clean water but many homes may have water issues that can not only make your water taste bad but can even cause damage to the plumbing.
Phil Witry from Commonwealth H2O says, "If you have copper plumbing in your house and you notice blue-green staining of any type in your porcelain fixtures, you have very acidic water and it's slowly deteriorating your copper plumbing." The hardness of the water can also be a concern. "Hardness in your water can cause the heating elements in your water heater to deteriorate much more quickly. It can cause your skin to be much dryer especially if there is chlorine in your water as well."

Commonwealth H2O is a full service water treatment company that can fix water issues by using products that are all natural like crushed limestone or salt. They also have a system that can recycle your water. "It's about the size of a water heater and actually recycles bath water and washing machine water to your toilet." This can save 30 to 40% of the water usage in your home and will pay for itself in anywhere from 3 to 6 year. "People are really interested in trying to save water especially in this area. We have had several droughts over the past 4 or 5 years and it becomes a big concern. If everyone could save 30% of there water usage it would make a big difference in the water that is out there."

The water recycling system used by Commonwealth H2O is called a BRAC system and was actually named one of the top ten green products for 2007.

The other post by michael from colorado is referring to a system that was copied from a Brac System design that is now outdated by three years. This copy-cat system is a patent infringement.

Please note there is another product manufactured in Colorado that performs the same water conservation as the Brac that requires servive once a year versus once a month.
