Since last week, our area has experienced above average temperatures and with all this warm weather so early in the season, folks altered their plans to be outside.
As temperatures climbed into the 80s on Monday, some people decided to change their routines to include time outside. Some opted for a picnic in the park, while others preferred exercising outdoors.
"Usually I go to the gym actually, and I take my daughter, but it's just so nice out, I'm going to get my walk out here at Monticello," said Toya Trager with her daughter.
Philip Winbern agreed. "It's such a beautiful day, and plus we wanted to get out and get a little bit of exercise in.”
So exercising outside and enjoying the sunshine seems to be the general consensus.
"Weel, I think most people are outside today. We went to the library for Mother Goose time and there were only like three other kids there, so it is time to be outside, I love the weather," explained Toya with a smile.
While some prefer the fresh air and warm sunshine, others would choose to remain indoors and complete their workout in the air conditioning. ACAC Health Club didn't see much of a decline in people today due to the nice weather.
"Right now...[the club is] probably average if anything. We've probably seen a little bit less because of the nice weather. People are going to take advantage of that," explained Joe Schwar, ACAC Membership Coordinator.
"I paid for a session with a personal trainer and that's going to happen inside because we are working with free weights," said Anthony Tonti.
Carol Curran's reason for why she was inside on a day like this was simple: "Well I have very little discipline and here I can structure what I do and I don't like heat, I like air conditioning."
This is the last day for some summer-like weather, a cold front will move through tonight causing temperatures to return to more seasonable levels for the rest of the week.
