Food Lion shoppers got a little lesson in agriculture today. It was in honor of National Agriculture Week. They tested their skills by taking a six-question quiz on agriculture.

Greg Hicks with the Virginia Farm Bureau says the goal is to show people just how much farmers contribute to our food supply.

"People need to be aware that agriculture's important and that everyone has to eat, so it's just an important industry that a lot of people overlook, I think they take it for granted," said Hicks.

Statistics show farmers make up less than two percent of the population.
