Tonight was the first chance the public got to view the potential scope of the Route 250 Interchange project and try to influence the outcome.

"We will use that to incorporate additional concepts and then start fine tuning these concepts into alternatives. Which means there's some level of engineering that occurs to see how feasible they are," said Project Manager Angela Tucker.

There are several things officials need to consider before beginning construction such as the environmental and economic impacts.

"We've heard concerns about construction activity impacting neighborhoods, businesses, the motoring public, and we've been asked to give attention to minimizing that," Tucker said.

The project is expected to costs between $25 million and $32 million with funding coming completely from the federal and state governments. Tucker says two things would make the project run smoothly.

"The best case scenario would be that we complete our design to the satisfaction of the public and other stakeholders as well as be able to coordinate it with the Meadowcreek Parkway," she said.

Those options will all be compiled and then developed into several different options which will be available for the public to view sometime in June.
