The Gordon Avenue Library is holding its 41st 'Friends of the Library' book sale.

The event is being held in the library's basement. Its purpose is to help the eight branches of the Jefferson - Madison Library with yearly programs, library special needs and equipment.

Organizers say there are more than 100,000 books to choose from. You can also grab a few CD's and movies.

“As the sale goes on, as we have room, we'll open up the boxes and put [more books] on the shelf," said book sale manager, Bill Davis. “Hopefully we'll get them all out by the end of the sale.”

Davis says 90% of the books are donated. Prices can range from 50 cents to hundreds of dollars for collectibles.

The sale runs until April 2.
