The 65th annual Dogwood Festival continued Friday night with fireworks and fun at McIntire Park in Charlottesville.

The fireworks started around 8:30 p.m. and were not stopped by the light spring sprinkling.

People also rode carnival rides and played the midway and told us the festival provides a chance to have fun with friends.

Albemarle County residents Talehyecha, Sedriana, and Phendia met up with other friends at the park.

"My favorite thing was coming out with my friends," said Talehyecha.

"Hanging out with my friends, too," Sedriana agreed.

"Yeah that was the best part," said Phendia.

The Dogwood Festival continues through May 3. To see the events, visit the Dogwood Festival website.
