If you've been hoarding those late library books hoping to avoid fees, you happen to be in luck. From Sunday through Saturday Jefferson-Madison Library will let you return their books without being charged. It's part of National Library week. Library officials say it's the first year they've allowed amnesty, and so far it seems to be going well.
"We would much rather have people return the books so that they can continue taking out books rather than getting the fines," said Jackie Lichtman of the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library.
Some other festivities planned this week include writing contests and book card giveaways.
