Albemarle county police gathered finger prints at Fashion Square Mall on Saturday, but this wasn't for an investigation.
Several parents were able to have their kid’s finger printed by Albemarle County police as part of the sheriff's Crime Prevention Through Education Program. Officers say this is great information for parents to have especially if something ever happens to their child, and parents agree.
”It's something I can always give to the police, said parent Annette Staples. “Of course finger prints aren't going to change so that's why it's always good to have on file.”
The finger print records will have to be maintained by parents.
Another finger printing event is scheduled at Fashion Square Mall sometime in June.
