A mother was sentenced Tuesday in a Charlottesville courtroom for cocaine possession, which prosecutors say led to the death of her unborn child.
Garan Lea Drymond will spend two years in prison.
Drymond was convicted of smoking cocaine at a hotel last year, which a medical examiner says led to the death of her nearly full-term son.
Under Virginia law, she is not liable for her child's death.
Drymond will also undergo substance abuse counseling.
