The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of 49-year-old Janet Renee Field of Hickory Hill Road in Scottsville.
Officials say Field was last seen on Wednesday, July 2, by her husband at their home.
Her husband, Lewis Field, spoke off camera saying that she left their house in Scottsville early in the afternoon and didn't return that evening. He also said he didn't know where she was going.
The Fluvanna County Sheriff's Office held a press conference on Friday to give more details in her disappearance and say that at this point they don't suspect foul play.
“She is a white female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 130 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes,” says Sheriff Eric Hess.
At this point they don't have a clothing description, but they did find her 2010 burgundy Subaru Forrester with the license plate WNP259 at the Park and Ride lot at Zion crossroads on July 4.
“There's nothing really apparent like she took her belongings and vacated that I'm aware of at this time,” says Lt. David Wells. ‘Like I said, we are still in the early process.”
Authorities say she may have ties to the Richmond area, but at this point they are hoping someone can give them information that can bring her back home.
“If anybody has any knowledge at all or saw her at a shopping mall, Walmart, at gas station, or someone at the Park and Ride and saw her get in any type of vehicle, that will be very beneficial,” says Wells. “So we're hoping the public can help us in that someone may have seen her somewhere or know of her.”
After going to her home on Hickory Hill Drive, her husband explained off camera that wherever Field is, he hopes she can get in contact with authorities to confirm she is alive and well.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Fluvanna Co. Sheriff's Office at 434-589-8211.
