Now that the Hollymead Town Center is complete it's time for a celebration.
More than 100 people took part in the neighborhood welcome today called “ShopArt.”
The event was focused around spring time in Charlottesville and art. Kids were able to get their faces painted, decorate cookies, frames, and pottery.
Parents had a chance to take part in the fun when gift cards, as much as $500, were given out to many of the town centers retail stores.
“This is just a time to welcome everybody, and enjoy a good afternoon, and give the kids something fun to do,” said Jenny Hess from Regency Centers, owners of property.
Three elementary schools took part in a banner contest. Six winners had their art work displayed in the parking lot throughout the center. The winners also received a $100 savings bond.
