One woman suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon when her car went off the edge of the road and into a ditch.
It happened just before 3 p.m. as the car was heading east on Jefferson Parkway. Authorities say she apparently lost control of the vehicle. A volunteer firefighter from Lake Monticello was passing by just after the crash and called 911.
"I was first on scene and I was coming home from Piedmont. I saw the accident and I stopped to help her out. There was a lot of injury to the car, she didn't seem to have any injuries to herself. I just waited for the ambulance to get here," said Justin Yarboro.
One lane of traffic was blocked as crews worked to remove the woman from the car and remove the car from the ditch.
Police are looking into the cause of the accident, but the woman driving reportedly told one emergency crew member that another car forced her off the road.
