Charlottesville Police continue to investigate a shooting in the city. Late Thursday night, two, 20-year-old black men were shot in the 2000 block of Michie Drive in Charlottesville. Their injuries are non-life threatening.

Police are looking for 5'8" black male who was wearing a white t-shirt. The suspect might have been in a black four door car.

"What puts us at a disadvantage, if you will, in this case is that both victims took themselves to the hospital, there was a passage of time between the incident occurring and our ability to go back and discover a crime scene," said Charlottesville Police Chief, Tim Longo.

Police say two twenty-year-old black men were victims of gunshots Thursday night. Authorities received a call about one victim from the Martha Jefferson Hospital shortly after 11pm. While interviewing that victim, they received another call about a second victim at the UVa. Medical Center.

Police say details are scarce.

"The information that we received thus far from the victims is very vague, very inconsistent, so we're trying to put the pieces of a very complex puzzle back together again to determine what might have happened last night," said Chief Longo.

At this point, officials say they believe the shooting took place at the 2000 block of Michie Drive. Some people in the neighborhood say they thought they heard gunshots but didn't see anything Thursday night.

Charlottesville police say they are hoping that they will be able to get much needed information from the public in order to determine what happened.

"How that incident came about is really still the mystery to us, and as we speak, investigators are trying to get to the bottom of what may have occurred," said Chief Longo.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 977-4000.
