Dave brat, the Republican nominee for Virginia's 7th district congressional seat for the, made his rounds in Orange on Saturday.

He stopped by the Edible Food Festival to meet with families and residents in the Orange community.

He says his goal is to help boost the economy and give jobs back to Virginians.

“We're just going to try and get things right,” says Brat. “I'm an economics professor and I think that's the main thing people have on their mind is the fiscal picture.”

“So we will try to do the right thing, get the economy rolling again, and get some jobs going.”

Brat beat out house majority leader, Eric Cantor, for the Republican nomination back in June.
