Police arrest and charge man with driving under the influence following a fatal crash in Nelson County.
State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 6 in Nelson Co. on Tuesday, Aug. 5th. Police say a Honda Civic ran off the right side of the road as it came through a curve. The car’s driver then over-corrected, causing the car to skid off the left side of the highway, strike a fence and then a tree.
The Honda’s driver, 27-year-old Matthew S. Kennedy of Afton, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The front-seat passenger, 33-year-old Christopher G. Clark of Faber, died at the scene. Clark was also not wearing a seat belt.
Kennedy was arrested and charged with DUI.
The crash remains under investigation.
