Police Investigate Fatal ATV Accident in Fluvanna Co.

Virginia State Police say the driver of the ATV was traveling east on Route 761 when he ran off the road and hit a ditch. Both the driver and passenger were thrown.

Police say alcohol is a possible factor in an ATV accident that killed a teenager Friday night in Fluvanna County.

Virginia State Police say the driver of the ATV was traveling east on Route 761 when he ran off the road and hit a ditch. Both the driver and passenger were thrown.

The passenger, 18-year-old Kaitlin Aylor of Madison, was flown to the UVa. Medical Center where she died the next day.

The driver, Travis Allen, was also flown to the Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, and was charged with an underage DUI.

The crash remains under investigation.

Kaitlin would have started as a freshman at Eastern Mennonite University next week. She would have played college softball

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 19, at 11 a.m., at Etlan United Methodist Church in Etlan, Virginia.
