Police say 78-year-old Ethel Loretta Geoffroy, of Lynchburg, was the passenger in a black Dodge Ram, when a work truck apparently failed to stop at a stop sign, striking the struck, killing Geoffroy.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by an accident reconstruction team.

Albemarle County Police are investigating a fatal accident earlier Tuesday in North Garden.

The crash happened at the intersection of Route 29 and Plank Road.

We are told a white work truck t-boned a black pick-up truck resulting in significant damage to the vehicles.

One person was killed in the accident, but no word which car they were driving.

No word on the other people involved in the crash.
