Friday night Piedmont Virginia Community College said goodbye to this year's graduating class, as they become the newest alumni from the school.
It marked the community college's 33rd annual commencement.
The college awarded degrees to 386 graduates.
The guest speaker was Senator George Allen, and he praised Piedmont's ability to fill needs in the healthcare and technology fields.
The college president, Frank Friedman, said that graduates from the school play an important role in the growth and development of Virginia's economic future.
The class of 2006 was made up of 216 women and 170 men.
According to PVCC, more students from the region are enrolled there than at any other college or university.
