Today is the last day to register to vote in Albemarle county for the democratic primary election. Applications were due today at 5 p.m. but will still be accepted by mail, as long as it's postmarked by today. If you didn't register but would like to vote in the general election in November, the books will reopen after the primary.
"The books will reopen on the 14th which is the day after the primary, so then you have up until October to get registered for the November election", said Senior Assistant Registrar Lauren Eddy.
Absentee voting begins today, so if you know you aren't going to be in town on June 13th, you can pick up an application at the voting office on Pantops or call and have it mailed to you.
