If you're a fan of jazz music, starting Memorial Day Weekend you won't have to go far to find it. "SAXX" opened it's doors in Belmont.
The jazz and blues lounge will host a number of Virginia performers. The staff says it will fill the need for a jazz club in Charlottesville, and give jazz-lovers a local place to enjoy the music.
"They've never had a club in Charlottesville that's dedicated specifically to blues and jazz," said Elva Holland, the booking agent at SAXX. "We've had other clubs in town that have brought R&B artists, and pop and rock, but this club is only going to be dedicated to blues and jazz. There's a tremendous amount of talent here in town and there's a tremendous amount of talent that we want to bring in for the community."
The club is at the corner of Douglas Avenue and Monticello Road. It is one of several new businesses in the Belmont.
