Students at Sutherland Middle School kicked off their annual film festival Monday. They made four short films as part of their art class.

Each group had to come up with a film idea, then write and direct it.

The films were about five minutes long. Today they showed off their movie-making skills while the whole school watched.

"That was awesome, when I actually got to see the movie, I was like we actually just made the movie, it's not just a project that we are doing," said student Sean Joyce.

Students say the films took about a month to make.
