A gigantic whale showed up on the lawn of Johnson Elementary school today. Teacher Sue Garnett helped design and create a 70-foot Blue Whale replica. It was part of field day.
Inside the replica, students learned about whales and living systems. In all it took four days to make. The teacher mostly used plastic and duct tape and says it was a lot of fun.
"It was my first time and I am proud that it works, you know my eyes got really big when it inflated, I was like 'hey it really works,'" said Sue Garnett.
The Blue Whale is one of the largest living creatures ever known and can get up to 100 feet long.
