Sirens Tested at UVa
Crews tested the University of Virginia's Emergency Sirens on Tuesday. Officials say the test is important because it helps to determine if the sirens are audible from certain locations.

Several loud blasts pierced the afternoon air on grounds at the University of Virginia Tuesday.
Crews tested teh school's emergency sirens. The tests were conducted at six locations across the University by the company who installed the sirens.
UVa's Director of Emergency Preparedness says the siren tests are integral because they help the makers determine if the sirens are audible from certain locations.
