Local farmers and foodies come together for the Second Annual Agri-Business Marketing Conference.
The conference was held at the Albemarle County Office Building on Monday, Jan 27. The event featured speakers and information to help folks with business development, marketing strategies and resources.
“This is a really excited prospect as a very very small farmer in the north west part of the county to see the growth of the local food movement all these young people getting involved in agriculture is terrific,” Albemarle Co. Supervisor Ann Mallek said. “It was a dying breed for a while and the average age was 55 or 65 but now I think it's radically changing here.”
The discussions covered topics such as small farm marketing experiences, where to sell your goods and prepared food regulations.
