It was all about skaters and skate boarding in Fluvanna County Saturday evening.
Fluvanna Parks and Recreation and the county's Skate Committee teamed up today to host a skate day.
The groups were raising money for equipment that local skaters in that community could use.
Right now Charlottesville has the closest skating park, but that's almost 30 miles away, and organizers would like to see something similar in Fluvanna.
"We have had a large interest from the youth in the community who are looking for their own place to be able to go to," said Keith Meyerl, the Director of Parks and Recreation. "It's been a really exciting movement here in the county."
So far the groups have raised more than $2,500 dollars, but they say they hope to reach their goal of $10,000.
