Carter Mountain Orchard has seen a positive effect on their crop from the recent tropical storms passing through.
"it is unfortunate to think of it that way, but we get some of the rain effect from some of the tropical weather this time of year. Those rains that came through really has helped the crop the last couple weeks," said Cynthia Chiles, whose family owns the orchard.
Now they have a very healthy crop of apples and pumpkins.
"We've had a really good season this year we had a nice cool spring. A little dry this summer. But, we've had some nice rains recently, which has really helped the apples. It came just at the right time for us," said Chiles.
Which has timed out perfectly for their annual Apple Harvest Festival.
"I really had fun picking apples. I climbed some trees and pick some apples," said Leslie, an eight year old attending the festival with her parents.
"we're having the first weekend of our apple harvest festival today. We're blessed with the beautiful weather. And we're just celebrating the harvest of all the apples. We've got music, crafters, food, hayrides, but most importantly we have everything apple," said Chiles.
Next weekend is your last chance to go to the Apple Harvest Festival at Carter Mountain Orchard. Several thousand people attended the event this weekend.
