If you use in the Market Street parking garage, you're going to have to have to find a new spot temporarily.
The garage is being temporarily closed to hourly parkers while crews clean the structure; it will still be open to drivers who pay a monthly fee.
It's been two years since the garage was cleaned, so officials say the cleaning is past due, but it will be environmentally safe because of new Charlottesville standards. There are other parking options downtown.
"We hate to inconvenience people when they're coming downtown, but at the same time it's very easy to get to the Water Street Garage. Again, crossing 4th Street, if you're in that area scooting right across the mall, and entering from our Second Street entrance, that's our primary entrance," said Charlottesville Parking Center general manager, Bob Stroh.
The garage is expected to be reopen for hourly parkers by the end of the week.
