A man remains in jail after an attempted murder in the town of Orange.

In police custody is 19-year-old Garian Washington who was arrested on Friday, June 16th, after he allegedly shot at another man on June 8th. Police say it happened on Lindsay Drive in Orange during an argument over stolen drugs.

According to police, Washington aimed a gun at the man's chest, and pulled the trigger, but the gun misfired, allowing the victim to run away. However, Washington was able to fire another shot, this time hitting something which made the round graze victim.

On Friday, June 16th, Washington tried to run from officers serving a warrant, but was caught by a police canine.

Washington was denied bond by a judge. Washington sits inside the Central Virginia Regional Jail charged with first-degree attempted murder.
