A former Albemarle County soccer coach accused of hiding child pornography on his computer will stay behind bars for now.

Today a bond appeal was held for Raja Jabbour, a former Albemarle High School girls soccer coach. A federal judge decided Jabbour should stay in jail, while he waits for a trial date.

Jabbour's lawyer suggested the court could ban him from having Internet access as a condition of his release, but the judge believed that because Jabbour's alleged actions are a compulsion. that he would probably be more dangerous now than before, with or without a computer.

This all stems from an arrest back in April. Jabbour is accused of having child pornography on his computer and Internet chats with children as young as 12 years old.

Apart from possession of child porn, we're told that additional charges against him are also pending.

A trial date for Raja Jabbour could be set in November.
