The city's top cop makes his first arrest in three and a half years.

Charlottesville police Chief Tim Longo arrested a suspected shop lifter on the downtown mall yesterday. A city police officer had been chasing the suspect when Longo spotted him and made the collar.

Forty-seven-year-old Felix Johnson of Charlottesville was taken into custody. Longo says he has made only one other arrest since becoming chief.
