Two city councilors said a farewell tonight.

This is the last day on the job for democrat Blake Caravati and republican Rob Schilling.

Schilling served for four years and Caravati for eight.

Caravati today says he feels sad and old. Old because he's wrapping up a long tenure in office and sad to leave his friends.

“I'm really going to miss working with the staff in the city of Charlottesville. By far I think [it is] one of the best of any local government in the state of Virginia,” said City Councilor Blake Caravati.

Their successors Dave Norris and Julian Talliafero take over at the stroke of midnight.
