Airport traffic is down in Charlottesville.
The Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport has seen a slight dip in the number of people boarding flights this year. In the last six months, CHO says travel has slowed by six percent or fifty seven hundred passengers less than where they were last year.
“We have seen for June and May those numbers have been pretty much on par with last year. So we started out the year down and we are beginning to pick back up again,” said Brian Elliott, Executive Director of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport Authority.
Higher fuel costs have slowed airport travel across the country.
