The drama unfolded around 4 p.m. in the mobile home community just off of Profitt Road. A man called 9-1-1 and said that he had wired his home with explosives and was going to blow it up.
Albemarle County Police, the ATF and the Virginia State Police bomb squad responded to the scene and cordoned off the area. After a short time, police took Charles Turner into custody. However, as a precautionary measure, County police called the Virginia State Police bomb squad in to check the trailer.
After over 7 hours, the all clear was sounded and the residents poured back into the community.
According to Turner's son, Turner suffers from bipolar disorder and mixed his medication with alcohol causing this reaction. No word yet if Turner faces any charges relating to the incident.
