The music of famed composer, Leonard Bernstein, is making its way to Charlottesville.

The daughter of the West Side Story writer, Jamie Bernstein Thomas, will give a presentation at Piedmont Virginia Community College next Monday, as part of the Ash Lawn Opera Festival.

Officials said Bernstein Thomas will provide an inside look at her father, his music, and the legacy he left behind.

"I think West Side Story might very well be many peoples favorite musical ever and to have the opportunity to meet the daughter of the one who wrote it is pretty exciting for Charlottesville," said Martha Redinger, an Ash Lawn Opera board member.

The performance starts at 7 p.m. on July 31, 2006. Tickets are $15 at the door.
