Police in the town of Culpeper are trying to identify skeletal remains found on a members only golf course.
Investigators say maintenance staff at the 'Country Club of Culpeper' noticed a human skull near hole #4 around 8:00 a.m. Thursday.
Police are not able to identify the remains right now. They have sent them to the medical examiner's office for a dental review.
A resident who lives near the golf course said the discovery bothers him.
"I do have a wife and kids in this area. Of course, my daughter, it scared her pretty bad when she heard the news, so it was pretty alarming. This is big news for a small town like this. We don't have something like this very often," said Chuck Gilmore.
Police are checking all of their cases involving missing people. They do not suspect foul play.
