The Nelson County Service Authority received a $600,000 loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The money will be used to build the Authority's water and sewer operations in Colleen Business Park. The construction of the single story brick building is in the planning stage.
The director said a new facility is necessary since space is limited in their current building.
"We are going to be improving our working spaces for customer access. We will be able to function in a more effective manner," said Tim Castillo, the Director of the Nelson County Service Authority.
Authority officials are hoping a construction bid is made this fall, so construction can begin next spring.
