Louisa County sheriffs are challenging local fishermen to bring in the biggest catfish.
The Catfish Challenge starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday August 12 at the High Point marina in Lake Anna and ends the following morning. There's a $30.00 entrance fee and the proceeds benefit the Louisa K-9 team.
“It's to benefit our K-9 department. We're getting ready to acquire a new K-9 patrol narcotics dog which is very expensive. Those dogs can run up to $10,000," said Major Don Lowe of the Louisa County Sheriff’s Dept.
Prizes include trophies and fishing rods and the grand prize winners will split the cash pot with the sheriff's department.
