Men from around the area turned out this morning for the Men's Four Mile race. This men only running event raises money for prostate cancer programs in the UVa Department of Urology. Prostate Cancer is the most common form of cancer in American men. The four miles was a challenge for many of the men running today and for one man it marks a significant milestone.
"I never could run. I used to weigh 425 pounds. And six years ago I decided I was going to do something about that and 'I've lost 240 pounds. So this is the first time I've run in my life. That's something new to me. I could barely ever see my toes and now running is just a whole brand new ball game," said Perry Finley, a who ran in today's race.
This is the fifth year of the Men's Four Miler. It was held in Free Union.
